THE NEEDLE AND THE DAMAGE DONE (Neil Young

I caught you knockin’
At my cellar door
I love you, baby,
Can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.

I hit the city and
I lost my band
I watched the needle
Take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.

I sing the song
Because I love the man
I know that some
Of you don’t understand
Milk-blood
To keep from running out.

I’ve seen the needle
And the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie’s
Like a settin’ sun.

The lyrics describe the destruction caused by the heroin addiction of musicians he knew (above all  his friend and Crazy Horse bandmate Danny Whitten).  He said  about this  song: “I am not a preacher, but drugs killed a lot of great men.”

  2. I do not know whether it’s just me or if perhaps everybody else experiencing issues with your website.

It appears as if some of the written text on your posts are running
off the screen. Can somebody else please provide feedback and let me
know if this is happening to them too? This might be a problem with my internet browser because I’ve had this happen previously.
    Many thanks
