referring to a chivalrous gesture that indicates politeness, deference, admiration or even devotion. It is a refined form of greeting for a man to a woman.
If “Continental” refers to Europe and underlines the politeness and courtesy of the act, I have a question:
are we, Europeans, still regarded as epitome of good manners?
