25 April: Liberation Day

In Italy, on 25 April  we celebrate “Liberation Day” (Festa della Liberazione), also known as “The Anniversary of the Liberation”
It marks the end of the Italian Civil War and of Nazi occupation in 1945, towards the end of the second World War.
On this day, a public holiday, we commemorate the Italian Resistance, those people who fought against the Nazis and Mussolini’s troops during World War II.
