Earth Overshoot Day πŸŒ

Today, 29 July 2019 is Earth Overshoot Day (EOD), previously known as Ecological Debt Day, the date on which humanity’s resource consumption for the year will exceed what the Earth can regenerate.
By midnight, humanity’s allotment of natural resources for 2019 will be all used up.

Each year, the human population grows and we keep increasing this deficit by consuming the Earth’s natural capital and accumulating waste, primarily carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Last year’s Earth Overshoot Day was 1 August, three days later than this year’s. Over the past 20 years, Earth Overshoot Day has moved up three months.

      1. Si esatto. Quasi come
un naΓ―f che non ha di meglio a cui pensare. Del resto basta scorrere i giornali per capire quale sia la situazione attuale … (e la manipolazione delle informazioni – aggiungerei). Povera Terra.

  1. If there was a god of ecology we could sacrifice to I’d line up the politicians πŸ™‚ we are in a dangerous place right now with no plan other than talks which are unresolved on unity issues.

  2. So we shoot and shoot and shoot. What’s left over of this world. What is the freedom of a world lost in consumption.
And everyday we look at the sky, we breath in some air, we just stay happy, the earth in despair.
