Torun (Polonia) : Filus, l’inseparabile cagnolino del Prof. Filutek (un personaggio dei fumetti ideato da un cartoonist polacco) – un vecchietto in redingote, bombetta e ombrello.
 

Che cane buffo! E dove l'hai trovato? -
Er vecchio me rispose: - È brutto assai,
ma nun me lascia mai: s'è affezzionato.
L'unica compagnia che m'è rimasta,
fra tanti amichi, è 'sto lupetto nero:
nun è de razza, è vero,
ma m'è fedele e basta.
Io nun faccio questioni de colore:
l'azzioni bone e belle
vengheno su dar core
sotto qualunque pelle.

A Matter of Colour

- What a funny dog! And where did you find it? -
The old man replied: - He’s really ugly,
but he never leaves me: he’s grown fond of me.
The only company left for me,
among so many friends, is this black cub:
he's not purebred, that's true,
but he is faithful, and that's enough.
It's not a matter of colour:
good and beautiful deeds
come from the heart
under any skin.
