Amanda Lear: “Tomorrow”

Wooh! Voulez-vous un rendez-vous tomorrow?
We could try to say goodbye tomorrow
Don’t you know where I come from?
Can’t you feel love coming home?
Where are you? Can I see you tomorrow?

Wooh! Voulez-vous? Now I see a rendez-vous
It was you and me tomorrow, don’t you know that loving feeling
We could try in my book of trips to say goodbye
You’re the one I picked tomorrow
You are F.A.N. fantastic,
Don’t you know where I come from?
Yeah you’re great,
Can’t you feel love coming home?

You’re the best, forget the rest, tomorrow
Wooh! I’ve had to wait, now I see you so much time
It was you and me to find you,
To know that loving feeling
I won’t let in my book of trips anyone
You’re the one I picked, take you
You are F.A.N. fantastic,
Don’t you know where I come from?
You’re the sunshine of my life,
Can’t you feel love coming home?

Voulez-vous un rendez-vous tomorrow? Wooh! Wooh!
Voulez-vous un rendez-vous tomorrow?
We could try to say goodbye tomorrow?
Don’t you know where I come from?
You are the sunshine of my life; can’t you feel love coming home?
Where are you? Can I see you tomorrow?

Wooh! Voulez-vous? Now I see you, un rendez-vous
It was you and me, tomorrow, to know that loving feeling
You’re the best in my book of trips, forget the rest
You’re the one I picked, tomorrow, you are F.A.N. fantastic

Voulez-vous? Now I see you, un rendez-vous
It was you and me tomorrow, to know that loving feeling
Where are you? In my book of trips
Can I see you? You’re the one I picked tomorrow
You’re F.A.N. fantastic? Voulez-vous
Gimme gimme gimme, now I see you, good cool loving
A rendez-vous, it was you and me, baby, tomorrow
To know that loving feeling, gimme gimme gimme, you’re the best.

“Tomorrow” is one of French singer Amanda Lear’s first records, released in 1977, which immediately became a success and remains one of her biggest hits. The song was written by Rainer Pietsch, with lyrics by Amanda Lear herself.  Still today she is often identified with it, although she has recently declared “It’s the worst song I’ve written, unbearable.”

In the text, a woman uses some French words to ask a man to go out with her, playing on the rhyme of “voulez-vous?” (do you want?)  and “un rendez-vous” (a date).

DOMANI

Wooh! Vuoi un appuntamento con me, domani?
Potremmo provare a dirci addio, domani

sei F.A.N. fantastico,

Wooh! Ho dovuto aspettare, ora ti vedo, così tanto tempo
Eravamo io e te a trovarti
A conoscere quel sentimento d’amore
Sei F.A.N. fantastico,

  1. LUISA, you brought tears to my eyes I read your comment , your words touched my soul . I was with my friend sharon we shopped for installation materials for two days and her father gave us a hand . We decided we had to try and make the front porch dry &warm for the four homeless cats that eat and rest there every evening. Wind blowing & DAMPNESS HAS been unbearable here lately. I have a open 150yr. Old fashioned Victorian home lovely in the warm weather but with snow & cold temperatures its become deadly for the little ones . I cant take them I have 3 big MAINE Coon females that definitely won’t except a ANOTHER one . Sharon has took two from the porch last yr.and they can’t be together because CRISTAL has feline Aids .CAN’T be with other cats. Their so healthy & beautiful to. So we have been knocking our brains out and spending amounts of money doing this. It looked great neighbor’s complimented on it . Then we came home after going out to feed the deer by the river , the high winds knocked everything down. We were totally devastated. At 2:00 a.m. we got it all back up &successfully completed .but we were dead for two days .( anytime you want to do good for gods creatures watch out there always seems to be a roadblock ) But never give up , when you care never give up !!!!!!! 🐺🦊🐱🐶🦁🐷🦌🐎

    1. My dearest Sharon, thanks for the nice words you spend on me. Yes, I had a happy childhood, loved by my parents who I also loved very much. I still feel them close to me and it is their teachings that I think of when I need advice.
A lot of love from Italy ❤
