‘Obtorto collo’ ✍️

Coinvolta su Facebook nella maratona poetica DECENNIO DI AVVICINAMENTO DELLE CULTURE – Esposizione internazionale virtuale, sto pubblicando dieci mie poesie, una al giorno.
A mia volta, oggi ho invitato a partecipare Rosalba De Cesare
(8° giorno)

OBTORTO COLLO
a G.M.

Alzato il calice
com’eravamo soliti fare,
ho davvero udito
il cristallo vibrare?
Con lo sguardo umido
ho cercato
il tuo volto amato.

Sulle labbra
dal bicchiere
solo un sapore amaro.
‘Dove sei?’

Fu detto
o solo pensato?

‘Son con te, bambina,
non temere
non ti ho lasciato.’

Menzogna!

Obtorto collo
come solevi dire –
te ne sei andato
senza far rumore,
una sera,
all’imbrunire.

OBTORTO COLLO

I raised the cup
as we used to do.
Did I really hear
the crystal clink?
With wet eyes
I searched
for your drink.

From the glass
to my lips
a salty taste rose.
‘Where are you?’
I asked.
or only thought.

‘I am with you,’
I caught
‘don’t worry
I‘m not far away’

Liar!

Obtorto collo
as you used to say –
you had to leave
silently,
at dusk, one day.

Obtorto collo Is a Latin phrase used to indicate acceptance, against one’s will, of external impositions, in this case death

    1. Dearest Pat, your comment makes me really happy, and I thank you very much.
As you know, it is not so easy for me to render in English what I write in a poem, and to try and keep some poetic devices. If you have any suggestions or corrections, please don’t hesitate to let me know 🙏💜🙏

  1. LUISA, THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS STORY WITH ME I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR INSIGHT ABOUT DEATH, LOVE AND FEELINGS ABOUT THESE TOPICS. THIS STORY BRINGS SOMETHING VERY STRANGE & ODD TO MIND. 💏 WHEN MY HUSBAND GENE OF 45 YRS DIED SEVERAL ODD OCCURRENCES HAPPENED, ONE BEING TWO DAYS LATER, I WAS UNHAPPY AND VERY SICK FROM LOSING HIM AND SOMEONE WE KNEW WAS ADAMANT ABOUT TAKING ME OUT FOR A RIDE, IT WAS HOT IT WAS AUGUST ALSO IT JUST SO HAPPENED TO BE GENE’S BIRTHDAY .I HAD AN OVERWHELMING FEELING TO OPEN THE TRUNK OF MY CAR AT THAT MOMENT AND SAID PLEASE OPEN ,NOW , INSIDE WAS ONLY ONE THING, A STRAW . THE KIND I WOULD BUY HIM ,GENE COULD ONLY DRINK FROM A STRAW & IT WAS TURNED TO ONE SIDE THE SAME WAY HE HAD TO BEND IT .NO IT WAS NOT THERE BEFORE HE DID NOT DRINK ANYTHING IN THE CAR EVER . I KNEW IT WAS A GIFT FROM BEYOND. THANKS LUISA YOU ALWAYS MAKE ME REMEMBER 💗🎶💗🎶😇
