Today is Queen Elizabeth II’s official birthday – the second in the year.
Yes, the monarch celebrates her birthday twice: although she was born on April 21 1926, her “official” birthday, marked by the “Trooping the Colour” ceremony, has taken place today, June 17.
The tradition to commemorate in the summer was started by George II in 1748 when he decided to celebrate his birthday not in the cold season, but later, when there was a greater likelihood of good weather for the Birthday Parade.

non so se mi piacerebbe festeggiare due volte, ma l’idea mi solletica molto perché sono nata il 15 dicembre troppo freddo e soprattutto troppo vicino a Natale!!!!
