Fiammetta, Melitta, Nerissa, Ninetta,
Leila, Elena Sangro, Donatella,
Jouvence, Aélis
Genio et voluptati
Io lo conosco bene,
più di tutte le altre
dovete fidarvi di me Dovete fidarvi di me
È questo il rituale
Lasciate che vi accompagni
a sinistra delle scale. A sinistra delle scale
Lasciate ogni pudore
voi che entrate.
Da questa parte
Par ici
Nerissa, Donatella, Corè, Melitta,
Fiammetta, Venturina… Rose bianche, profumiere, fazzoletti
Barbara, Cinerina , Elena Sangro,
Leila, Ninetta, Jouvence… Cure del corpo, frizioni, camicie di seta
Io lo conosco bene
E se non vuoi sbagliare
Tu devi fidarti di me …tu es très jolie
Lascia che lui ti guidi
Lui sceglierà il tuo nome
e cosa indosserai Écoute sa voix
E toccalo sul petto
con la punta delle dita
so che lo gradirà So che lo gradirà
E fermati Fiammetta
Non devi precipitare
Contali Nerissa
i giorni alle tue lune
Dimmeli Melitta
e se chiede di me tu
Chiamami Ninetta
perché mi possa unire
Esther, Donatella, Corè, Melitta,
Fiammetta, Cinerina… Nella mia greca mente Euclide Stesso
Barbara, Venturina , Elena Sangro, Ninetta,
Leila, Jouvence… Tra circolo e triangolo è perplesso
Non devi baciarlo in bocca
Non fare la gelosa
Non essere sboccata Ascolta la sua voce
Attenta a non toccare
gli oggetti nella stanza
abituati all’oscurità La voce ti guiderà
Dovrai eseguire i suoi ordini
Essere la sua schiava, se ti piacerà
Se ti piacerà
Dovrai eseguire i suoi ordini
Essere la sua schiava se ti piacerà
Ti piacerà perciò
Vestiti Barbara
per il monaco di ferro
Chiedi a me Esther
se non sai come fare
Prendilo Leila
il diavolo nell’inferno e
Pentiti Jouvence
perché stai per peccare!
Adesso sei pronta
Tu es prêt
Adesso puoi entrare
Tu peux entrer
Fiammetta, Melitta, Nerissa, Ninetta,
Leila, Elena Sangro, Donatella,
Jouvence, Aélis
Adesso puoi entrare.

In the concept album “Ultimo D’Annunzio“ by Alfredo Marasti, the song “Leda’s Room” refers to the “traffic” of lovers, concubines, noblewomen, at the Vittoriale directed by Aélis, in the dual role of governess and mistress, the second most important woman at the Vittoriale.
The Room resonates with the names of the women he loved, to whom he liked to give a lot of nicknames: “Barbara, Cinerina, Corè, Ester, Fiammetta, Melitta, Nerissa, Ninetta, Leila, Elena Sangro, Donatella, Jouvence, Aélis…”
The speaker is Aélis who is addressing a newcomer and giving her some advice
Leda’s Room
Tu dois être propre,
c’est lui qui veut ça
Barbara, Cinerina, Corè, Ester
Fiammetta, Melitta, Nerissa, Ninetta,
Leila, Elena Sangro, Donatella,
Jouvence, Aélis
Genius and voluptati
I know him well,
more than all the others
you have to trust me You have to trust me
This is the ritual
Let me accompany you
left of the stairs. Left of the stairs
Leave all shame
you who enter.
This way
Par ici
Nerissa, Donatella, Corè, Melitta,
Fiammetta, Venturina… White roses, perfumers, handkerchiefs
Barbara, Cinerina, Elena Sangro,
Leila, Ninetta, Jouvence… Body care, rub-down, silk shirts
I know him well
And if you don’t want to go wrong
You have to trust me … tu es très jolie
Let him guide you
He will choose your name
and what you will wear Écoute sa voix
And touch him on the chest
with your fingertips
I know he will like it. I know he will like it
And stop, Fiammetta
You mustn’t rush
And you Nerissa count
the days to your moons
Say how many to me Melitta
and if he asks for me you
must call me Ninetta
so that I can join you
Esther, Donatella, Corè, Melitta,
Fiammetta, Cinerina… In my Greek mind Euclid Himself
Barbara, Venturina, Elena Sangro, Ninetta,
Leila, Jouvence… Between circle and triangle he is perplexed
You mustn’t kiss him on the mouth
Don’t be jealous
Don’t be coarse. Listen to his voice
Be careful not to touch
the objects in the room
get used to the darkness His voice will guide you
You will have to carry out his bidding
Be his slave, if you like
If you like that
You will have to carry out his bidding
Be his slave if you like that
So you will like it
Get dressed Barbara
for the iron monk
Ask me Esther
if you don’t know how to do it
Take it Leila
that devil in hell and
Repent Jouvence
For are you about to sin!
Now you are ready
Tu es prêt
Now you can enter
Tu peux entrer
Three women came around my heart…
Barbara, Cinerina, Corè, Ester
Fiammetta, Melitta, Nerissa, Ninetta,
Leila, Elena Sangro, Donatella,
Jouvence, Aélis
Now you can enter.

Luisa ! Without understanding much of the context , I simply observe that the women had special roles to play at the Vittoriale . It reflects the cultural subtlety of the great Italian society . So much activities of women like that of lovers , concubines and noble women at that period of history simply show the degree of liberty they (women) were enjoying that time in the society . Liberty and equality are two social values that determine the empowerment of women in any society. And I feel , Italy was champion in both right from the beginning . Thanks !

It seems his reputation only grows in death. I wonder if he would be as successful in his trysts today or just another Jeffrey Epstein. I can never understand why so many people revere artists (singers, musicians, actors, athletes) as if they are gods. I guess they are simply searching for some meaning in their lives. Happy Wednesday Luisa. Allan

Fascinating, almost disturbing poem. Thanks for sharing it. It puts the whole theatrical (even creepy) power that the Cad exercised over too many woman into a sharper perspective. A great way to allow us another view into that world. Brilliante, carissima Luisa.

O vengono messi in spam senza seguire nessun criterio logico? A me capita spesso
