“Tomorrow” is one of French singer Amanda Lear’s first records, released in 1977, which immediately became a success and remains one of her biggest hits. The song was written by Rainer Pietsch, with lyrics by Amanda Lear herself.  Still today she is often identified with it, although she has recently declared “It’s the worst song I’ve written, unbearable.”

In the text, a woman uses some French words to ask a man to go out with her, playing on the rhyme of “voulez-vous?” (do you want?)  and “un rendez-vous” (a date).

Tomorrow è uno dei primi dischi di Amanda Lear uscito nel 1977 diventa subito un successo e rimane uno dei più noti della cantante francese.  Autori del brano sono Rainer Pietsch e la stessa Amanda Lear che ancora oggi viene spesso identificata con questa canzone, nonostante lei abbia recentemente dichiarato “È la canzone più brutta che ho scritto, insopportabile.” [… in effetti non ha un gran contenuto!]

Nel testo, una donna usa alcune parole francesi per proporre a un uomo di uscire con lei, giocando sulla rima di “voulez-vous?” (vuoi) con “un rendez-vous” ( un appuntamento).
