Trust, Truth, Trinkets

๐Ÿ”†โ€œTrust is the first step to love.โ€
๐Ÿ”†โ€œIf there were a being in the world whose eyes could look into other people’s hearts, very few men or women would be able to face up to it.โ€
๐Ÿ”†โ€œBeauty doesn’t need ornaments. Softness can’t bear the weight of ornaments.โ€

Premchand, Indian novelist and poet (31 July 1880-1936)

  1. Luisa ! Today again you have chosen one of the greatest Novelists of the world . Lusun of China , Maxim Gorkey of Russia and Premchand of India , were all social Novelists . Premchand was born in a small village called Lamhi near Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) , India on 31st July 1880 . He died in 1936 before India got Independence from the British Yoke in 1947 as such . But his Novels like : Gavan , Godan , Seva Sadan etc. which discuss/represent the pathetic conditions of the the poor people of Rural India before Independence as such. He wrote in Hindi but his works have been translated in many languages of the world are read and liked by the people all over the world. And your all quotes are nice and beautiful . Thanks to write and cite about an Indian Novelist and a Story taller like Premchand .

  3. As too frequently occurs, here we have two items of eternal spiritual truth followed by a statement of personal sexual preference, which in no way belongs there. Our mystics have played fast and loose with the truth, both Eastern and Western.

  4. DAGLI OCCHI IL VERO
    (Giulio Romano e Raffaello)
    (La Bellezza)

In questo mondo da sempre traspare
dagli occhi la bellezza, il sentimento
    . . . diuturnamente cerchi di acchiappare
tramite loro il vero ogni momento.

Gli occhi della Madonna non li ho
    mai visti . . . erano azzurri? . . . verdi? . . . o
    neri, profondi, per provenienza.
Manco del taglio ne ho conoscenza.

Ciรฒ perchรฉ sempre in quadri in cui viene

    E qui tโ€™incanta e lascia a bocca aperta. ( 1 )

    Tu ammirare puoi questa chicca
    nella pinacoteca, molto ricca,

    di Palazzo Barberini, ben vicina
    allโ€™assai risplendente โ€œFornarinaโ€,

il cui sguardo รจ sulla rosa . . . brina
e punge il cuor come di rosa . . . spina,

che fa scordar le pene della vita,
    e in lei senza sembrare . . . calamita!

Cโ€™รจ in tutte e due bellezza sopraffina:
    terrena in questa, nellโ€™altra divina.

    (Cassandro)

  6. In pure coincidence yesterday I read this “If only our eyes could see souls instead of bodies, how very different our ideals of beauty would be”. Thank you so much Luisa for sharing this poet’s heart with us. Love, light and Lammas blessings, Deborah.

    1. Dear Deborah, your quote is a condensation of wisdom, in this world where a lot of people don’t know or don’t want to look beyond the external appearance or the surface.
      Thanks a lot โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
